Wheebly Bin
Combine the two best inventions, the weeble, and the wheely-bin | |
Wheels are good, we've all enjoyed their contribution to
page-scrolling and as the focus of game shows. But it's
aiding the moveaboutability of large bins that is perhaps
their greatest gift. Now, the weeble <link> is a
criminally underused concept that speaks directly to the
human psyche (just
think how profoundly compelling the
man-sized Clown-weeble would have been, had it made
the
final cut of Schindler's list). What we need here, is a
bin,
that's a weeble. With wheels. The bins will be resistant
to
the effects of both youths and wind alike. Some concrete
or other heavy material will take care of the heavy
bottom,
fortunately the top part is mostly empty anyway, I
checked. Wheels will be on the side, and will come into
play
once the operative tilts the bin over far enough. The
Wheebly bin will not roll away, and will self-compensate
for
adverse gradients.

Sheer undiluted genius [+]. |
|
|
There should be a segway type vehicle without needless gyroscopes but simply a weeble with a single bearing caster wheel bottom dead centre. |
|
|
It is also widely thought that [8th of 7] is a weeble. |
|
|
I wouldn't say genius, exactly... [+] |

|
I want one now. I think I'd follow the rubbish truck down the road just to watch the wheebly bins wobble around after emptying. [+] |

If you put a weeble on a surface that is not flat, it will actually tip farter in the downhill direction than a standard bin. |
|
|
I didn't say it'd compensate in the correct direction. |
|
|
//it will actually tip farter// Is that one of those little squeaky ones? As opposed to a wide farter which is more flabby and resonant? |
|
|
No, that's just the name of the hat that sits on the weeble's head. The hat looks sort of like a woopie cushion: hence the name. You didn't get that from the context? |
|
|
a weeble, incidentally, is an incredibly tough target
to hit from the air... Lancaster crews will attest to
that. |
