(Evil suggestions would be filtered out and deleted.)

I have a limited set of skills that are useful for particular situations but I might not the imagination to build what I should work on that would benefit the majority of people.

People can also donate money to a suggestion, which shall be awarded to the submitter if they pick that suggestion and do it.

If this is a passive system then it is similar to Linked in or any CV type service

More interesting would be an auto-aggregator that groups and classifies your proffered skills

Answer: "You should build a website that tells people what they should do."

       Cue Liam Neeson.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you." —Liam Neeson, Taken

It made headlines at the time but I can no longer find the news story.
Some guy stopped a bank robbery with that 'specialized set of skills' quote.

[+] There are two conflicting verses in the book of Proverbs (chapter 26 according to the Christian division): My translation:

Do not answer an idiot with his stupidity, so that you won't be like him, yourself.

Answer an idiot with his stupidity, so he won't consider himself smart in his own eyes.

I think it is saying that if you don't know when to apply which of these suggestions, you should be worried that perhaps you yourself are the problem.

On the other hand, if you correctly realize the stupidity in the idiot's words, then already you are not one.

So it all depends on how much lack of imagination you have when using this website. If it is total, you might want to be worried that the participants are actually just having a go at you. But if you still have some, and only not enough, then you could probably discern the good suggestions from the bad suggestions and not just leave it to the public vote or greed.
