Weekly alarm clock

Because some of us aren't 9 to 5, Monday through Friday

I'm currently a student. This means I have classes at whatever hours the professors have decided to hold them. Some days my first class is at 9 in the morning, other times it's at 1:30 in the afternoon. Weekends I don't have classes at all.

I currently use a rather straightforward alarm clock to wake up. I set it at 8, and set it for days with morning classes and go alarmless the others. Being a forgetful (and sleep-loving) person, I'm afraid to change the alarm to a later time for fear that I'll forget to set it back and sleep through my classes. But I'd like to have other alarms for days I need to get up early, but not *that* early.

What I'm proposing is an alarm clock that keeps track of the day of the week and allows for the setting of multiple alarms that go off on specific days. This is already available as software for just about any OS, but I don't want to leave my computer and its noisy fan running all night, nor do I want to go buy a PalmPilot just for this app when a simple, inexpensive consumer device would do.

You would think that just about EVERYONE could use something like this. People with jobs have a different schedule on the weekend, and people who are students have (as you mentioned) a different schedule every day. This would also be cool because I like to go to the gym before work on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I'd love one of these too...I'm one of the people with a different work schedule on the weekend...

My clock has a "weekend sleeper" function that lets you have one alarm for weekdays and none on the weekends. Of course this isn't as involved as what you are talking about . . . but it's a little more baked than you thought.

I have solved this problem using my central heating system, which i can program to come on at blistering heats at different times each day. I wake up each morning not from a buzzer but from my body crying out for water.

Get a “Timex Internet Messenger Watch” from http:// www.timex.com, Wal-Mart, etc. It has five independent alarms that can be set for daily, weekdays, weekends, weekly, monthly, or yearly. For “weekly,” you can set “Monday,” “Tuesday,” “Wednesday,” “Thursday,” or “Friday.” So you can wake up a different time each day. Only problem is that the alarm is not as loud as an regular alarm clock’s alarm.

Westclox makes a digital alarm clock with two separate alarms. I find (as long as I successfully remember what day it is) that it does the trick.
