Week Long Vote

Voting allowed any time in the week prior to election day.

If voting was allowed any time in the week prior to election day, would that not make last minute attack ads much less effective ? Not only could you reply to attacks, but the timing of such ads would be much harder.

Absentee ballots have already made the timing less focused on a single day.

Also if polls opened at different times and places, the candidates could meet and shake hands with most of the voters in their district. If one candidate showed up the rest would have to.

If all politics is really local, why not give things a push in that direction ?

I despise politicians and all that they stand for. That being said, I like this idea for the sole reason that little old ladies and gentlemen would have more time to get out and vote.

       I like it, even though I don't vote. I vote here +

Yes, why should a vote be hurried ?
