Death ,and taxes ..2 things you can count on. I would like to be creamated and the ashes mixed with an epoxy resin as filler. The resin could be poured in a mold of a statue of yourself or anything else you liked when you were alive. You could request in your will that your remianing loved ones are required to wear jewelery made from the deceased epoxy mixture as a stipulation of inheritance distribution. Lets see how much they really love you??? or possibly a vibrating device for you exwife? The possibilities are endless ...just like the supply of ashes

Victorian mourning jewelry. http://www.morbidou...victorianmourn.html
Taking a lock of hair and weaving it into knot designs for use in a broach was the most popular form of Victorian mourning jewelry. [StarChaser, Jun 07 2002, last modified Oct 21 2004]

How about a make up, since you're having people "creamated..."

Seriously, not a pleasant thought. Don't choke on your bone, or you never know where you might end up.
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

I vote for it because I thought of it. But if I hadn't I would still vote for it because I might thought of it .

Native tribes used to shrink the heads of their enemies and wear them around their necks like lovely decorative necklaces.

She would have if she speak bestest england.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

he not she, shirley? otherwise it would be shradia...
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

I was going to put he, but i tossed a cooin and it landed on its side, so i decided on she.

       Ice creamated

aha, so a coin has heads, tails and female. makes some sort of sense in a man's world.
po, Jun 05 2002

I was thinking obverse, reverse, and one-in-a-million.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

How do you know which country i am from, shradius? And where is this irony that you speak of?

And it is generally men that wear pants in my country, althoug most favour the boxer-brief hybrid. Women tend to wear knickers or thongs.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

you don't exactly make a secret of it, sctld..

Hey, shradius, you obnoxious little imp, you wear a kilt and no underwear in a place as cold as scotland, then come back and taunt their "lack of manliness." Or say that to their face, at least.
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

       Its not a ha-ha-x.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

shradius: Remove the mulitple question marks in the last paragraph, before admin comes in here and does it for you.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

at least he can spell "Sean"
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

//are there any sea monsters rumoured to be in any lakes in your country?//

Yes, that is correct, i live in Sweden.

Knickers are womens underwear. Like Y-Fronts, only for women. And without the Y.

And agian with the multiple ?'s. Please dont't.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

Yamahito : I resent the remark obnoxious little imp ,I prefer obnoxious big imp. But you are commended for your endearing protectionist qualities ...almost maternal. I have lived in colder places and we stayed warm by not exposing or skin. Not a question of manliness to want to be warm . I apoligise to all whom can give a joke but not take one ...........
shradius, Jun 05 2002

Wearing a kilt doesn't involve exposing body parts to the lements. Quite the opposite in fact. You have two layers of thick heavy-weight cloth that traps the heat in quite nicely, and then you have a sporan that traps the heat in with its nice soft seal fur. You can actually get too hot in a kilt in the winter time.

For a site based on halfbakery ,I am amused by the concern over the verbage used. The idea is the share Ideas for unusual thoughts, inventions , products ..not tear down the fact that I lack the use of my hands and occasionally make a mistake typing with my mouthpiece...... Excuse me for my imperfections
shradius, Jun 05 2002

We're all pedants here, and it would do you well to remember the three-stage rule of annotations.

       1. Engage Brain
2. Type
3. There is no stage three
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

shrad, you mebbe stuck with the obnoxious big imp title, can think of worse! but where is home as English seems to be a 2nd language? apologies if I am wrong. and I forget my manners - welcome to the halfbakery.
po, Jun 05 2002

sorry shradius, I play a little rough sometimes, and someone had put my back up earlier by making an anti-xxx country statement... prove to me that the title isn't deserved, I like to think that I'm pretty open minded (unless persuaded otherwise)...
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

po : no apoligy needed you are correct I cannot even speak english as a first language ...let alone a second... and where I am from is no more important than how I spell .or if I am male or female ..or speak ..this site is about fun and content ,ideas ,thoughts ....1/2 bakery books ,deamericanization plans, and troll petting zoos .....
shradius, Jun 05 2002

but I am very interested shrad, you are a very very interesting person and yes, you are lots of fun as are many of the people here. we learn so much from each other of cultures and lives and I get the feeling that you can enrich us in many ways. please do not disappoint me.
po, Jun 05 2002

Yamihito :Ok so I can use both my hands ...but not to type very well! Do you all see what happened here? It started out as an Idea about ashes and emerged to critisiam of sentence structure then escalated to differances in international culture and fashion ...........I suggest a new invention the "emotional puncuation. " every sentence is ended in the intended facial gesture... Example: The period at the end of this sentence is a smile instead of a dot....Thereby relaying my intended feelings ...8-)

//Do you all see what happened here? It started out as an Idea about ashes and emerged to critisiam of sentence structure then escalated to differances in international culture and fashion //

That's why I love the HB...

as for the emoticons, well UnaBubba may not like 'em, but you'll see some of us using them quite a lot of the time ;op
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

Thank you blissmiss :You forgot to mention the french ...oh well they don't fight over anything anyway....8-)
shradius, Jun 05 2002

bliss: We have free health care. Also, we have more assylum seekers than America. WE have dissability allowance, child allowance, and any other allowance you can think of. We are not that far off the welfare state. Mind you, we have been around longer than the U.S.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

Good night Po : Having traveled on Virgin railways fast train from London to the Granite City along the scenic coastline It has been my good fortune to experience some of the feelings that emit from the passing ramparts as the train collides with the fog. Sctld has history and Beauty few places can equal
shradius, Jun 05 2002

Back to the ashes ...Would you not want your kids to have to keep a statue of your likeness on the fireplace reminding them to clean there rooms when they are well into adult hood ? or maybe a statue of Homer Simpson on your grave with the statement "doooooooooo" as an epitaph? made from your very ashes?
shradius, Jun 05 2002

No, i plan on being buried. And we are allowed to digress in the annotations. Its the idea that has to follow the strict protocol and rules, not the ramble that follows.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

thank god, else we'd all be chucked off by now.
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

       Indeed.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

I guess that means you won't be a customer of "Compositememories"?
shradius, Jun 05 2002

       I do enjoy compost though...
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

       compostiememories then..
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

Excellent Idea Yamahito!! Compressed compost statues made from composted burial material and epoxy...wow why didn't I think of that!...It now covers burial and creamation I like it.8-)
shradius, Jun 05 2002

If it includes burials, there will need to be a compostmortem.
[ sctld ], Jun 05 2002

I still prefer the idea in the [link]..
yamahito, Jun 05 2002

yama: I guess it depends if you prefer sharks or worms. Actually I wonder if I could be fed to hamsters. I think they eat meat. It might require a worrying number of the little critters though, to devour me before putrescence sets in.
pottedstu, Jun 06 2002

       ... or pooter sense
thumbwax, Jun 06 2002

When I die I want to be puréed. That might work better for the creamation part.
beauxeault, Jun 06 2002

// he not she, shirley? otherwise it would be shradia... //

       "shradia" would be the plural.
waugsqueke, Jun 06 2002

that depends on whether we're talking about endings within declension, or which declension it should belong to, doesn't it?
yamahito, Jun 06 2002

First off the thought of wearing a dead relative is just disgusting. Secondly, I really don't think that you will be able to see how much your relatives love you because you'll be dead.
Fallen, Nov 06 2002

I can grant you everlasting life
thumbwax, Nov 06 2002

...... in return for one's immortal soul, no doubt ?

I quite like this idea. I would like my ex-wife cremated, the remains mixed with resin, and fashioned into either a lavatory brush or a bootscraper. The cremation could be done right now, I see no reason to wait untill she dies of some other cause.

And I have an ex-boss who would be ideal for casting into a lavatory pan. He was full of sh1t during his life, so he can conveniently carry on that way after death.
