Waste torpedo

Narrow boat waste solution

I somehow watched some narrow boat videos on YouTube and it seems that getting rid of human waste from narrow boats is a big issue with somewhat compromised solutions. I propose that narrow boats could be installed with septic torpedos which could be 'fired' at allocated disposal facilities. There would be no heavy lifting or pumping and less risk of an unthinkable spillage incident. The disposal facility would somehow take in the full torpedo and have pre— emptied and cleaned torpedos for exchange. Maybe they could be powered by methane? Or somehow you could have septic depth charges but I can't really think how that would be useful.

This is definitely one of your three best ideas, [Rusto].

At first I thought you were talking generally about boats that were narrow, and I was wondering why waste disposal would be any different than a wide boat.

After a little Google sleuthing, I'm guessing that you mean the particular style of canal houseboat common to the UK?
