There are peer reviewed published studies that beautification chemicals like peptides work from topical application at the skin [link].
Some medical peptides are often physiologically active at microgram, or sometimes lesser amounts.
A washcloth, optimally reusable hundreds of times, impregnated
with beauty peptides to give an active dose of the beauty peptides when wiping off the face, after the rinse stage is a possible technology object. A multi-dose washcloth, is as far as I know, a new method of beauty chemical delivery. Just 5 milligrams of peptide might represent over 100 dose deliveries per washcloth. It is beneficial that a washcloth use activity already occurs after the rinse.
Washcloths, to my perception, have lots of bacteria between uses. It is possible there could be a washcloth probiotic where the bacteria impregnated into or seeded onto the washcloth were beneficial as probiotics to the skin or even produced beneficial chemicals like beauty peptides or other topical drugs.
Now can halfbakers and others think of anything really beneficial to put in a resusable washcloth?
It is possible people might come up with ideas like, or better than, adding cytomembrane passing chemical moieties like a centrophenoxine group to the beauty drugs. Another possibility is a protein noted for having its own dedicated transport channels being attached to the molecular structure of the beauty peptides.
It also seems possible that you could put an enzymatically degradeable linker molecule between the active beauty peptide and the membrane-passing chemical. That way, something like a brief ATP polymer, or possibly some NMN, separating the beauty peptide from the centrophenoxine would release the pure peptide when cytochemicals did their thing. I think degradable linker molecules would work on a variety of other medical drugs as well.
There could also be a new type of beauty peptide that actually works on something as a result of being transported past the nuclear membrane into the actual nucleus. Possibly something that effects histonation, which might affect protein transcription fidelity and amount.
Nucleus active beauty chemicals are a little different than topical gene therapy. Topical gene therapy as a beautification treatment is valuable as well.
