Yikes, much too difficult. Ctrl-f abuse permitted? |
[Case in point: arguably a1 disqualified for re-use of "for"] |
Additionally, women can compete strongly. |
Best idea ever! Punctuation reusable, obviously. |
This should be a board game with an AI text-to-speech intermediary to act as the judge. The real problem is that any discussion will devolve into nonsense even faster. |
[Calum] wins 1 point for a successful challenge, and [a1] is now on -1. The entire game resets after such play, hence permitting me to say "for". |
Yes, use of control-F encouraged. |
Brilliant! Might one fall short regarding prepositions? Methinks true. |
Things would go downhill fast when the auxiliary verbs ran out. |
Smart players perhaps invoke foreign languages? |
You guys never specified whether participants need constrtrain themselves about protocol. Are metaphors allowed? Is slang forbidden? |
This is somewhat similar to Just A Minute, which has been running for at least 30 years and is totally brilliant. Thank you most excellent and most supreme BBC. |
<bzzt> Repetition of "is". |
I think foreign languages are not permitted, except loanwords. Maybe use the standard Scrabble dictionaries. |
Metaphors and slang encouraged. |
[xen] yes I thought about JAM. This one's technically narrower; hesitation or digression fine. |
Repetition should be picked up strictly as the result of an opponent's challenge, and then, a subsequent check against the written record (or audio search?). If you can remember every word that's been said and challenge successfully, you're a genius, or a practiced kibitzer with a limited vocabulary. |

Chinese speakers would be able to keep this going much longer, I suspect. So would speakers of heavily- inflected languages, like Latin. |
Unbelievable! Utterly execrable high jinks without discernible purpose. Exemplary fun. |
+ yeah, was gonna axe about slang, but already answered. |
User, unchallenged, merrily sallies forth. Bonus! |
Browser plugin could auto-detect pre-used vocab; also integrated thesaurus app provides alternatives. |
Drat! Player3 [poc] enters chat, pulls ahead. Quelle surprise! |
Shirley you can't be serious? |

<notes that all of [Sgt]'s annos except for this one have been Playing The Game as outlined in this superiorilly entertaining idea> |
<notes for clarity that [Sgt] DOES participate in the Ooloongftangftang banking scheme, and DOES NOT participate in flame wars or similar> |
