Well I have these translucent bodies that float around my field of vision. They don't impair my sight, but they can be annoying at times. Anyway, with the advent of the liquid crystal display, I seems that it should be possible to implant a small circular display inside the vitreous humour that could
alter the colour of incoming light before it strikes the retina, thus creating floating images in the vision. A wire could attached to the edge of the screen, run along the muscle fibres that attach to the eye, and then maybe out the side of the head to attach to an input device.
I don't have a clue why you would possibly want this device your head, but it could probably be inserted nonetheless.

I think those floating things are bacteria and the like on the surface of your eye. |

You could, presumably, put a little ticker tape in there, like they run across the bottom of the TV screen on financial shows. There is a science fiction story somewhere that features a cult that embeds clocks in their eyes. |
