Virtual Headphones

earpieces float away from ears, with noise cancelation and eye tracking

These headphones would float away from your ears so that sound could be either admitted or canceled virtually, through other sound. One way to do it would be to play white noise in the headphones until you notices something you wanted to pay attention to and then turn it off. This switching could be done with eye tracking or with facial twitch recognition. The open space above the ears would allow for sensitivity between cancellation and admittance.
