An undercover operation to discover the hidden trade in Um Bongo fruit juice.
The company clearly states "Um Bongo Um Bongo They Drink It In The Congo" when in fact it is only marketed in the UK and Portugal (don't ask me).
So, some secret trade exists, with unwitting people are used as mules to
smuggle it into the Congo in exchange for contraband minerals?

I think this falls into "We Should Research". |
There is a problem though. "The Congo" can, nowadays, refer to either the Democratic Republic of the Congo (which, one assumes, is undemocratic in the same way that social sciences are unscientific), or to the Republic of Congo (which clearly wasn't fast enough in picking a name), or even the Congo river. |
To confuse matters further, the Um Bongo adverts were first aired, I believe, when both of the Congo countries were known as Zaire. |
All in all, this reeks of obfuscation and conspiracy. |
I suspect it partly occurs via ordinary freight, in boxes marked "Not tractor parts" to avoid suspicion. |
Which raises the question how do legitimate makers of tractor parts get around having all their stuff delayed while it is searched? |
They also rely on the support of former tractor enthusiasts. Cue [Ian]. |

Today's news was someone at the Poland border trying to sneak about with 1,300 packets of fags and an AK-630, a six-barreled, 30mm naval anti-aircraft cannon described as 'plumbing equipment'. See link. |
Hmmm, if someone is going to do this kind of thing, would it be better to hide the fags under the anti-aircraft cannon, or the other way around? |

I saw the title of your link before your annotation, and I
thought someone had tried to shoot the cigarettes over
the border with artillery. |
