This would work fine, except in terms of success.

Reuters: An unfortunate incident occurred today to <<ahem>> years old BHumphrys who, whilst high on a ladder in the rain attempted to answer his mobile. Unfortunately, according to witnesses, it went to answerphone before he could grab it. In the process of lunging to extract the phone, unlock it, and attempting to call the voicemail system he lost his grip, swung round, unbalancing the ladder and leading to the bone-chilling occurrence of a fatal plunge. Witnesses then heard the shattered remains of the phone on the floor passing on the message "BHumphrys, don't forget to buy a bag of frozen oven chips on your way home!"

Maybe there would have been a different outcome if my glasses hadn't been so rain-spotted?

OK so the proposal is that my phone, for certain callers, is able to break through and answer automatically by the hands-free speaker so I don't have to fiddle with it it.

I can always call back later if an in-depth dialogue is indeed required.

You should have an option in your phone's settings to answer a call by saying "answer". On mine, there's an additional setting to answer calls automatically on speaker mode to save a click. Set your ringer to announce the caller's name or number and you're set.

I'm quite sure I saw the full-body cast twitch in an affirmative way. So he's fine.
