Triple Magnifying Glass Mask

One over each eye and one over the mouth.

The mask would make your eyes and mouth twenty times their normal size. You would look like some kind of alien freak with these oversized facial features that are fully functional. The massive mouth talks, the huge eyes blink and look around.

Addendum: Lenses could also be configured to make features appear smaller. Using this feature you could make the classic alien mask with big eyes and a small mouth. You could also do any combination. Big mouth small eyes, huge nose, one big eye, etc., etc.

In fact, you could sell a mask kit where you arrange various lenses to make your own freak mask. With enough lenses, you could expand or contract other parts of the face as well. Cranium, jaw, chin, all subject to this real time optical molding.

       If it's going to make your mouth twenty times larger, the lens is going to have to be twenty times larger than your mouth. So, you'd be wearing something the size of a dustbin lid.

       But [+].

       This could probably be done fresnellically.

       It might be worth having a couple of small holes out from through of which to look.

       //fresnellically//

       You've actually created a word. It's not in the dictionary, but I believe we, as citizens, are allowed some latitude in molding and evolving the human language. (by human I mean English of course)

       To use the standard words currently available you'd have to lumber through such phrases as "by means of a Fresnel lens" or "with a Fresnel lens" which I would argue is, if not improper, clumsy and awkward when a new word can be used, following strict protocols of course.

       So what are the rules for making words? Should fresnellically be capitalized? Is fresnelly also acceptable? I like fresnellically better. Fresnelly sounds like it's "a bit more like a Fresnel lens". Can you Fresnelify a regular lens design or would you Fresnelize it?

       And don't tell me we can't make up words. Each and every word we use was made up by somebody. And the vast majority of those people who created our language probably smelled bad compared to us modern humans since we bathe more. Not sure that really factors into the discussion but I'm just saying. Of course we can't have linguistic anarchy lest the language dissolve into a series of patois that are of little use to anybody outside a particular group, but language has to evolve to allow quicker and more efficient communication and the liberal allowance of new words is the way to achieve this.

       //And don't tell me we can't make up words.// I'm currently in Brussels, which apparently is in Belgium which is effectively in France. And France is one of the few countries to have retained the death penalty for inventing new words.

       Based on my discoveries so far, I can infer that they use the same strategy when it comes to plumbing and wiring.
MaxwellBuchanan, Feb 22 2015

       What, whenever they find a wire, rather than tracing what it connects to, they just invent a new word for it?

       That's definitely how the entire Gallic race approach the problem of deficient drains ...
