Not my idea - apologies. But I wanted to publicise this in the HalfBakery as an example of how the real world can often be so much more halfbaked than anything we can imagine. See link.
Toast
http://news.bbc.co....1264000/1264205.stm Here it is. Halfbaked toast. [hippo, Apr 09 2001, last modified Oct 21 2004]
(?) Robin Southgate's Report
http://www.brunel.a...roject%20report.htm I checked with the design student mentioned in the BBC Online article. He confirmed that this is for real, and sent me the URL for the project report. Thanks, Robin! [jutta, Apr 09 2001]
iPot

(?) Extreme Ironing

Its like the idea about with the foldable car that fits into a suitcase. That turned out to have been recently solved by a student at a UK university. |

That is such a cool project. We should all be humbled by
it. Now I would like to see toasty churn out Magic 8 Ball
toast... ask a question, put in your bread, get an answer
burned into your toast. "All signs point to Baked." |

"Reply hazy, toast again" |

And the Film Noir imaging toaster will be especially exciting. |

Oh yes... (btw - nice link detective work, Jutta) |

cool as this is, shouldn't it be [markedfordeletion], as it was already, er, toasted before it got here? |
|
|
Probably, although I like to see this as a shining example of half-bakedness. See [UnaBubba] and [PotatoStew]'s annotations above. |
|

Another halfbaked idea: Make ironing an 'extreme' sport. Then you could hold events like "The Ironing Man Triathalon".
You think this is halfbaked? Well someone's done it (which is why I'm posting it here rather than as a separate idea). See link. |

[dgeiser13], can you adopt this into your "piping hot" weblog so I can close it out? I'd hate to lose the item, but absterge is right. |

Which tastes better - sunny, cloudy or rainy toast ? |
