"So, we cooked up this extreme ride idea, a giant rolling wheel, a rim really, ten meters high that follows a track around the perimeter of the park. First, the riders are buckled upright onto safety backrests (we call them bookends) which can then be quickly attached to the wheel. There are 16 riders
standing on the inside of the wheel and 32 on the outside when it starts rolling.
As the wheel of terror rotates faster, the inside riders experience extra Gs as their bodies like spokes, do controlled flips on a sinus-like curve. As theyre pressed by their increased weight towards the rim, they can swivel the bookends to face forwards, backwards or outwards.
At the same time, the outside riders are feeling weightlessness in their spiraling path above and below the wheel theres a ditch in the middle of the tracks. Imagine whipping through the air, sometimes shooting towards the sky, sometimes falling towards the ditch, and all your body parts, head, hair, arms, beer belly, etc. are straining 'upwards'."

The riders on the outside would suffer severe damage. If the wheel is spinning as fast as you say it is, then they'd be pulling massive negative g's, which isn't good for you. |
