My proposition is simple. An alarm clock which synchronizes its alarm with a rooster monitored at your time zone's Rooster Monitoring Center. The RMC facility houses a rooster and a computer which listens for the "cockadoodledoo". A small fee paid for the service pays for maintenance of the RMC.

Don't be fooled by imitators, our system is the only one which uses genuine free range roosters.

Since roosters crow for many different reasons at all hours day and night, being rudely awakened at 2:00 a.m. would be a regular occurance with your system.

My cell phone alarm is very good at understanding that when I tell it to ring at 5:10 a.m., that's all it does. It doesn't seem to care if a wolf arrives before dawn (at a monitoring center as much as 1000 miles away, no less).
