Accidental drownings claim the lives of many children each year in tragic circumstances. The Neck Ringer is a simple invention that guards against the unthinkable. A donut shaped life preserver fits snugly around the child's neck and is secured by a device that only an authorized adult can release. If a child accidentally falls into a swimming pool or other water hazard, the neck ringer keeps the child's head floating above the surface of the water, saving the child's life.

A similar product for infants called "The Baby Bobber" is perfectly suited to their different bodily proportions.

While children might complain in the early days of wearing the Neck Ringer, after a few weeks they will scarcely notice it. The Neck Ringer can take different colored covers allowing for it to serve as the perfect fashion accessory.

When wet, the Neck Ringer flashes brightly and thus can be used for bathtime so that you don't accidentally throw out the baby with the bathwater.

       They'll have to be rather large and uncomfortable for them to work.   

       do you really think that making every child in the world suffer from severe neck deformation due to wearing these things all the time, and being unable to swim normally is better than having a few children die off so that the rest of us can live normally necked lives and learn to swim?

       I considered little pneumatic earrings that filled with air when exposed to moisture but they just seemed dangerous or possibly futile since being supported by enormous buoys on your ears might not keep your head above water.
