The Merits of Big Screen Beer!

A simple device to ensure a drunken escape from a bad film!

Have you ever craved a cool, sweet beer whilst watching a really bad movie?

Now we have the answer. The little drinks holder in the armrest is often not used to its full potential. Imagine a drinks dispenser in the armrest with the added bonus of refillable beer!

Underneath the raked seating would be an enormous tank of beer with a multitude of straws coming up through the armrest. Never again will you have to sit through a boring film with your girlfriend without having something to numb the pain!

Also, for the tee-totallers amongst you, there will be a section of the cinema without the added bonus of beer. I suppose it's your loss! A variety of sweet carbonated beverages will be available- in moderation of course!

Until next time compadres,

The Bloody Thesps

I can't read any further than that, I have to go - its 10:47 GMT - that means 13 minutes till opening time and the craving has kicked in. Tell my boss I'll be back, er, sometime *real* soon.

I can already buy beer in my local cinema and take it in. However, movies longer than two hours ("Heat" for instance) can become bladder straining if too much beer is consumed whilst watching...

There's a theater where I live that (when it reopens, after renovations) will serve beer and other alcoholic drinks, as well as dinner. This is very common.

waugs: What's that, the Screening Room? I don't remember them letting patrons take beer to their seats.

Anyway, BYO if they don't sell it there...
snarfyguy, Feb 19 2003

Not sure what the Screening Room is. This theater will have restaurant-like booths and waitstaff. They bring the drinks to you.
waugsqueke, Feb 19 2003

Yeah, but that defeats the purpose of purchasing a drink in the cinema. The idea is that you DONT have to buy a drink from outside and then take it in. How much more convenient is it to not have to purchase a drink outside but instead to be able to just sit down in your chair and then take a sip of cool refreshing beer from your armrest?!

The Screening Room, at Varick just south of Canal Street - the only (legal) place I know in New York to have drinks and films under one roof.

No there will not. Only Duff beer will served.

What word is dumplings trying to use?
snarfyguy, Feb 23 2003

I think she is attempting to use 'Que' which i believe is Spanish for 'what'. Not to be confused with 'qui' which is 'which' in French, or 'kehr' which is 'turn(ing)' in German...
