No doubt such features will be coming to eReaders. We can use augmented reality to bring such features to printed books.

"Dad, how can you read this? It has no pictures!?"

"It doesn't? Let's see if we can confirm that. Let's look carefully through my smartphone's camera. Check this out, look at this cool picture of the elves sword fighting!"

"Wow, that's way cool. Hey Dad, how come that elf girl has such big boobies?"

"Son, go back to your home work".

"Augmented reality"? Or xslt inserting random porn?

ie, movies with closed-captioning and narration, because you know that's how it would probably lean.

With some kind of advanced image-recognition software, the device used could recognize the words on the page and produced aug-real illustration for virtually any print media. Open-source software (or the appropriate app) would allow those with the know-how to create their own custom illustration for various books, which they could share via something akin to YooToob 'channels'. Using an aug-real enabled device, be it a smartphone, tablet, or the lightweight HUD visors we all know are coming, paper-and-ink media could be rejuvinated as a contemporary medium. I hope. [+]

Of course, I have only the barest semblance of an idea of what I'm talking about.

that would be on the ambitious side. I have come up with the linked idea some time ago, that I think is starting to be possible.

If a thing's worth imagining, it's worth imagining all the way.

My idea (link) puts all that aside - no batteries required.

If you're going to use so much tech, you may wish to make the breast configuration adjustable.

As for the adjustment mechanism, tactile feedback touchscreens would be fun.
