For when the urge to hit snooze and doze a few moments more is irresistible.
The Terror Clock is designed to cataput you headlong into a state of fully-conscious panic - a cold sweat on your brow and your heart trying to batter its way out through your ribcage. A constantly varying repertoire of
spine-chilling tricks include: smell of burning, sound of downstairs window being broken, the booming voice of the most-feared schoolmaster from your youth, changing the time so you think you have overslept by two hours, and perhaps even a short'n'sharp electric shock.
OK - so it's not the most pleasant start to the day, but you sure as hell won't be dozing off again.
not for nervous dispositions

Wouldn't we just generate a pavlovian reaction to simply turn off the alarm the next time there's a real fire? |

When I was a teen, my bed was in an open carport area, in Hawaii. Long story. Anyway, I found that a cat fight under the bed is a very effective wake-up call. Even at 3:00am. |

Beeping alarms already have this effect on me. That's why I use a clock radio. |

I need this. I always end up oversleeping and missing my early morning class. |

Terror Bedfellow also does the trick, Saturday mornings. |
