what if someone took Elvis' songs and put them to techno music? his fans might not be too happy though. the possibilties are endless! imagine "blue suede shoes" hmm...

Elvis: techno style remix http://onstagemag.c...e_elvis_poised_hit/
"The six-minute-plus recording is the work of popular Amsterdam-based DJ and producer JXL. He was licensed by RCA and Elvis Presley Enterprises to remix the song for the soundtrack to Nike's $90 million worldwide ad campaign tied to the World Cup soccer tournament." [half, Jan 10 2005]

I think it's strange enough as it is right now, thanks.

Yeah, big El' stole a lot a hearts over the years; but I don't think he got the techno thing down quite right. Go for it. Big El' returns from the army in a slightly subdued version of his former self and forms a band with Carlo Little in Wembly and resurfaces as Screamin' Lord Sutch and the Savages then later tours as P.J.Proby. He then returns to the US for his first live appearance there in eight years.

erm. [marked–for–deletion] let's all (make techno versions of Elvis songs) JXL was borderline techno.

I'd call it house, what with that syncopated piano riff in the background. Very nice piece of work (Ocean's 11 has a brief excerpt, too), might well spark a swarm of imitators.

They tried to do it again by getting Paul Oakenfold to remix "Rubbernecking" for the collection "Elvis: 2nd to None". The song was used in a Toyota ad but that was the last I ever saw of it.

       So [marked–for–deletion] baked and advocacy.

Also it seems many people need to update their musical lexicons.
