Circular dish-shaped rack has slots around rim which can hold thin potato slices chopped up by you. Fill it with potato slices you've already seasoned, put it in microwave for a few minutes - and voila, you've got instant potato chips, without any chemical preservatives.
You've likely seen this product
before. But the problem with that product is that it's just a single flat rack. If you're going to the trouble of making your own chips, you need to be able to put more potato slices into the microwave for higher chip yield. You want to be able to use the full 3D volume of the microwave compartment. So you either want a stackable rack, or else you maybe want a 3D helical coil shape instead of a disc shape.
The advantage of a stackable rack, is that you can sell the single rack -- but people can buy additional rack units if they want to scale up their chip yield. Each rack would be stackable via a central mast as a mount point. So we're talking about the same disc-shape, but it has a mast in the center of the disc which serves as a mount point. Perhaps the mast height would be adjustable via some screw or sliding mechanism, to adjust for the height of the potato slices.
The helical coil idea doesn't give you the flexibility of multiple stackable discs.
(Btw, for you weight-watchers who disdain potato chips for their high carb count and effects on the waistline, consider that turnips or rutabagas have only a fraction of that carb content. So those could be sliced up instead. This would further justify the product, since you can't easily buy such low-carb chips at a regular store, like you can with potato chips.)
