Warts, fungus and other bacteria can be passed simply by walking in the same area as someone else had. In Australia it's easy enough to get such things when walking at a public swimming pool, let alone a gym change room or sauna or similar environment.
Enter the "spray on foot condom" (not a final
name, but meh, I aint in marketing ;p). It's similar to the recently developed spray on latex's except that it also contains a mild anti-septic as well in the fluid to reduce chance of infection.
No more thongs! (I think they're called flip-flops or go-aheads overseas?) Just spray this on the soles of your feet and walk about without worry of getting some horrible little growth on your foot because some other unhealthy bugger was too inconsiderate to wear a plaster/band-aid on the wart or sore.

Failing the use of this you could always use some of the thousands of pairs of Hobbit feet left over from LotR as a subsitute... |
Except then you get hairs in the pool filter. |

Yup. Apparently there have been spray on condoms (Hm. They could have been paint on, I forget. Not too hard to make it sprayed though) that were invented recently. I thought that the idea was highly dubious but when I heard about someone recently getting a plantar wart I figured this would be a fun but halfbaked idea (since you can just wear shoes) |

where have you seen spray-on or paint on latex? you could make gloves, too.... I'm thinking rub-on/paint-on dishwashing gloves that don't get nasty... |

Spray on condoms were in a book by Ben Elton. It might have been 'This other Eden'.. not sure. |
That reminds me of something I saw recently... <link deleted> |

I would have thought a can of Lysol just as useful and rather easier to use. |
Lysol would wash off more easily than spray-on latex. |
[DrCurry] It's for use in a number of areas, including wet areas like pools etc. |

This is going to be painful for hobbits. |
[pluterday] As in a "If you think pulling bandaids/plasters off a hair arm is painful..." way? |

Has anyone thought about the possible environmental implications?! What to do with all of the left-over, potentially wart-infected rubber feet?? Bone! |

Paint on latex allows the skin to breath, so there's no worry about causing tissue damage. |
I saw a TV ad for Band-Aid's Liquid Bandage this morning, it occurs to me the existence of that technology validates your concept here. See link. |
Indeed, that's what the link named "Plasti-Dip" is about. |

>>Paint on latex allows the skin to breath,<< |

Says who? If your skin can breathe, then what is keeping the microbial offenders out? |
