Spinning Ying / Yang While Program or Page Loads

Prompts you to center your chi instead of yelling at the damn thing to hurry up.

I don't know anything about zen, chakras, chi or any of that stuff but I assume the study of such things helps one to not yell at inanimate objects like computers.

So instead of that little spinning disk telling you the computer is working on it and not frozen, you have a spinning ying/yang picture that reminds you to zen out and relax.

This one's too slow. https://www.youtube...watch?v=CccZoqCVYmQ
Or is it? [doctorremulac3, Apr 09 2018]

Whale has tentacles. https://www.youtube...watch?v=k664h7xqFzI
for lunch, appropriately enough for our (other) conversation, it's a sperm whale. [Skewed, Apr 15 2018]

I dunno, [doc]. The Yin/Yang thing looks a lot like two killer whales doing 69.

Would not an animated image of one hand clapping be more appropriate ?

There could be a corresponding sound effect.

       Those could be relaxing.

The current clock icon they now have taunts you. A shot of an accelerated clock is how they show the passage of time in movies. It's like the computer is saying "Wow, this thing's taking forever!".

It should be a spinning newspaper which, in old black-and-white films, is always followed by the revelation of a really exciting plot development.

Clearly you should be able to pick your spinning icon.

Earlier I had suggested a spinning evil clown face saying "What's the rush? Aaaahahahahah! What's the rush? Aaaahahahahah!"

I took it down because I thought it was stupid, but from little drops of stupid mighty acorns grow.

Computers work better the more you yell at them, and the more profanity you use.

Besides, nine out of ten loading spinners are completely unnecessary, and nine out of the remaining ten could quite happily sit in a corner of the screen rather than getting in the user's way.

The plot thickens.

Yin / Yang : a dyad in Chinese philosophy, drawing attention to the complementarity of opposites.

Yingyang : a euphemism for the anal sphincter, as in "up the yingyang", "out the yingyang", etc.

Which one are we talking about here?
pertinax, Apr 13 2018

Either is acceptable, as long as "Hentai tentacle porn" isn't mentioned.

LOL, I am so happy I got that wrong.

I mean right. I got that exactly right.

Too late, [Max] has already dipped his toe in those particular waters, you just didn't notice perhaps.

Heyyy, wait a sec. Shouldn't it be either "Ying / Yang" or "Yin / Yan"?

It's about opposing but equal forces working together in harmony * and they name one side with an extra letter? Maybe the original Chinese characters mirrored but then all the more reason to match the English version.

       * (or something, no need to correct me if I'm wrong, don't care, don't care, don't care)

Since when do whales have tentacles?

       *anticipates incoming whale tentacle porn*
