Yep, the patient was going to get her brain tumour shot with pions; but she had to have her head perfectly still. So they screwed her face to a frame and treated her.
So the cool dude/dudette gets a local.
Then the specialist cuts a little into the cheeks. Then the specialist drills into the cheek
bones. Plugs are inserted into the bone with cement. When the cement sets, you now have a plug to attach cool spikes from.
They can be in the shape of little horns, antlers, antennea, whatever.
The bases of these attachments can be weak so if the person's face hits or is hit, they can breakaway. If the person needs to take off the attachments (for work, kissing, metal detection) he/she need only unscrew them.
(?) Like this?

http://www.stevehaw...ransdermals_joe.htm But they aren't cemented to the skull. Spikes screw into metal disc pressed flat against it. Break-offable, even. [omegatron, Nov 28 2004]

Leaving an open hole in the face to the bone. You first. I'll stand by with the iodine. |

i understand. the 'posts' would be coming out of the face. in the face you could screw or unscrew the 'decorations' as long as the posts were there. once the healing is done presto! your old face. |

I saw a guy on a talk show who had done exactly this, in a line running down the center of his scalp. Basically, he had a "mohawk haircut" that consisted of screw-on jewelry instead of hair. |

You know, you can get coral implants under the skin. These coral implants slowly grow over time, to creat the effect of growing horns, ect. |

I would very much like to hear more about this coral that grows after it is implanted. Do the little coral beasties switch over from eating plankton to red corpuscles? |

|
The coral doesn't grow, it's a seed, liek for pearls, only new bone grows over this or something. |
