Speech Autocorrect

to tell people what you really want to say

On Microsoft Word they have an Autocorrect feature which changes spelling and grammar mistakes. The sort you can prgram it yourself to change the word "the" into "sex" and stuff like that, on your friends computer at work.

Well how about one for speech? When you're talking on the phone and you really want to say something, but you just don't dare, or forget or whatever. This machine could change your words and say what you really want to say. Or what you really should say. Or just say anything when you're so tongue-tied you can't think of a single thing to say.

If you know what I mean.

Curse-free TV http://www.1cursefreetv.com/
Purportedly makes TV safe for Christians by muting the audio when a "profane" word is detected in the subtitles. Rmutt wants one for inane cliches. [rmutt, Apr 05 2001, last modified Oct 04 2004]

would it change "its alright, darling it was just a bad dream" in to "i'm really sorry and i wont do it again"?

First thing I do after installing MS Word on a new machine is turn off the autocorrect. It should be called automistake. If you can imagine Dubya doing Shakespeare you can imagine what an MS version of speech autocorrect would be like. All meaning would be lost in a mess of words chosen for the wrong reasons.

Right. Multiple Sclerosis sufferers should not also suffer the indignity of the association.
