Soleless Shoes

Front and back have holes that allow the foot to make contact with the ground.

Only the center of the shoe sole holds the "Soul Sole" shoes in place.

Feel in touch with the world, get grounded. (Literally Feel the warmth of the pavement, the coolness of the grass, the sand between your toes.

Nobody will know you're connected to the Earth but you.

There is some that say touching the Earth and establishing an electrical connection might do something positive. Haven't looked into it myself, but this would certainly do that. I know when I grew up we went barefoot in summer, the soles of our feet would grow calluses in the first week or so and eventually we could walk on the hot sidewalks without it hurting as much. Jesus, I really was poor wasn't I?

Anyway, I like going barefoot sometimes. This would allow that without the stigma of being "That barefoot dude."

Used to be one of my most bunned ideas before my account got deleted and Jutta had to restore it. [21 Quest, Sep 13 2024]

Okay, 21 had a similar idea, my added feature is the removable foot contact point thingys. https://www.dropbox...vm&st=u2sb64p5&dl=0

You know, this was a joke, but actually, shoes where you had two round portions like rubber stoppers, one of the front of the foot, one on the back that you could pull off, put in your pocket and feel the ground under your feet, then pop them back in place after your grounding session might not be that crazy after all.

Wow, I actually kind of would like to try that out.

I think David Blaine has a pair of these...

Didn't I hear that they make shoes with grounding terminals in them or something? Could have sworn I heard something like that is out there.

(Poc) That's exactly what these would look like only slightly less like a bomb hit it.

Velcro. I think the removable parts would be attached with velcro.

Tricky to make as the sole kinda holds the shoe together, so doing this with the flexibility required for the top might be a real trick. Maybe there's a foam Croc style solution?
RayfordSteele, Sep 13 2024

I was thinking of just Croc style rubber but you screw the things in. Of course the easiest way to do it would be you just take them off to take the part out or put them in. Have them wedged shaped so the feet hold them in place.

       let me draw that...

I grew up not always having a pair of shoes - these days I joke about sharing a pair with my two brothers, and when it was your turn to wear both of them to school it was a good day.

I also hiked the Grand Canyon barefoot, but that was because I forgot my boots.

I now return you to your regular programming.

Wait a second, somebody here was poorer than me?
doctorremulac3, Sep 16 2024

No matter who we are, there is always somebody poorer than us. Somewhere, there is a child who has no gravity.

I remember in my late 20s the first time an endeavor I started earned a mid six figure chunk of money, how I thought it would change everything. Got the Porsche with a car phone (which used to be a thing). Went shopping with my girlfriend spending stupid amounts of money at stupid expensive stores for a couple of weeks and realized "Hey, this shit doesn't lead to happiness at all. What kind of line of bullshit have I been sold here?"

Matured a bit and realized you DO need enough money to be free, but trinket money is nonsense unless you care what people thing about your socioeconomic class, which makes them assholes and you a fool anyway.

Then met a woman who introduced me to my heart, started a family, had kids, and had people who actually care about you (and you for them) and I realized "Oh... that's what this is all about. This whole life thing."

Check out the beautiful cartoon about how you're sold "happiness".

Well I for one am surprised that absolutely nobody asked about my David Blaine reference.

So now I have to explain.
Nicely played.

He wears like Vanta black socks within sole-less sneakers and, by practising ballerina toe stands, can appear to levitate several inches above the ground while tiptoeing in his shadow.

       Okay, as you were.
