A set of insoles that changes color when the amount of odor producing bacteria that feeds on sweat reaches the point just before your feet will clear a room.

This would allow a person to wash or de-odorize their sneakers/shoes before any embarassing odor problems occur.

i.e.

big job interview, the nervous sweat pushes the limit and you can smell the stink eminating from your shoes. these insoles would prevent this.

Obsolete: we have something that does this better already. It even has a direct link-up to our central nervous system. It's called a nose.

Also, is there any proposed technology that would permit this colour changing?

Given that you can get deodorizing inserts, I'm puzzled why you wouldn't simply use those in the first place.

Welcome to the HB! Not keen on this idea, but what the heck, welcome anyway.

Oh, my stars! It is my cousin! I told you to read the Help File twice, and you didn't. Now you have a fishbone to show for your troubles. Make sure you comment on my stuff. You get a (+) for being related to me.

With proper hygene and shoe rotation you can avoid this problem. I would still have to bun this one because you can become so accustomed to your own smell that it does not even bother you. Much like bad breath- everyone knows you have it before it becomes evident to you.

I guess if you made the inserts white, the color change effect could be "yellow."
