Contained in a watermelon with part of the middle hollowed out to form a bowl, this represents Jupiter. Next size down is a honeydew melon representing Saturn. Then an apple that's the size of Uranus, then a lime, Nepture, then we get to Earth being a strawberry then Venus being a rasberry, then Mercury
being a blueberry.
Might have a little sign sticking up saying what each fruit represents.
Be a fun way to teach about the relative size of the planets with a nice fruit salad.
If the planets were fruit.

Uranus is really, really big.
https://www.univers...951/size-of-uranus/ Surface area is 8.1*10^9 square km. [Voice, Dec 05 2024]
More interesting facts about Uranus.

//an apple that's the size of Uranus// |
Yes, I slipped that in. I stuck it in there. The apple being the size of Uranus, needed to insert that. |
I know you stuck it in there, it's just a crappy thing to do. |
Ok so you can easily prove this. First show us a photo of this apple. And then show us a photo of Uranus. |
Now one difference between the apple and Uranus isn't just that Uranus is absolutely massive, I mean, millions of apples would fit onto its surface alone, but while that apple has a delicious fruity scent Uranus exudes clouds of odiferous toxic gasses like hydrogen sulfide. One sniff would knock you out. |

Pluto needs to be reconsidered a planet and the name changed to Theiranus. |

The packing density of cylinders on something as large as Uranus can be assumed to approach the global packing density, about .906. To simplify the math let's assume all the apples are 3.5" (varied sizes will give a higher packing density) and round at the widest point, with the widest point of uniform height. 3.5 square inches=.0022 square meters. 8.1*10^12/.00225=3.6*10^16. Divide by packing density and Uranus can hold about 39.700.000.000.000.000 apples, or 39 quadrillion, or 39 peta-apples, or 3.97*10^16 |
Other assumptions I made include counting the entire surface as flat and smooth, ignoring temperature and atmosphere and ignoring the spherical nature of the surface (more apples will fit in a round surface since the distance above the ground at the widest point counts with a sphere but not a flat surface) |

LOL! God I've got an immature sense of humor. I'm actually laughing out loud. |
Uranus jokes might get old someday, just not in my lifetime. |
In your lifetime Uranus will become incontinent. |
Yes, Uranus has continents. |
Did you know that Uranus is tilted to its side? The north and south poles are tilted and it doesn't spin on the same axis as the other planets. So if you stuck poles in Uranus they'd show that it's tilted in a weird way. |
Uranus is surrounded by liquid, but it has a solid crust. |
And toxic gasses, don't forget how it exudes toxic gasses. |
If you stand at the window, with binoculars, or a telescope, Uranus can easily be seen |

A song to celebrate our beautiful outer planet we all share. Sung to the tune of the Slinky commercial theme song. (link) |
"It's his, it's hers, it's theirs, it's ours, a fact that is quite plainus. |
It's there for all the world to share, it's mine and it's Uranus. |
Uranus, Uranus, incredibly huge in its mass. |
Uranus, Uranus, it's massive and blasting out gas. |
Everyone loves Uranus, everyone loves Uraaa-nus." |
I've changed my mind about the fruit salad; just coffee and the bill, please. |
I just realized that "Uranus" sounds a little like "your anos" which is Spanish for years. |
Boy is that embarrasing. Apologies for any confusion. |
