There is already a thriving industry dedicated to killing slugs (any UK gardener will know how destructive unchecked slugs can be on your plants). This seems wasteful to me, and a useful by product could be to make use of the (dead) slugs skins, in the same way the (thanklfully) less popular mink pelts
were used to adorn the bodies of the rich and famous. Slug pelts would be a natural by product of the gardening process, so could provide the luxury image of real animal skin apparel, combined with the 'Green' reputaion of its natural supply of raw materials.
One problem, you would need to make sure you didnt spill any salt on said clothing, salt tends to dissolve slugs.

Sorry, but I'm not wearing anything made out of dead slugs. Ugh. |

You can make leather out of just about anything, so I guess it's possible with snail skins. Not much point, tho, given how tiny the things are. But see link (the pedants out there will need to keep a firm hold on their spellcheckers). |

I'm going to be chuckling about that all day. |

The miracle genetic engineering could lead to bovine sized slugs.
Do you know how many slugs died to make that blazer?
I'd rather go naked than wear Slugther. |

Might help to keep personal interaction with aunties and such to a minimum.
Auntie: "Hello <Insert Name>, come here so I can give you a big hug and kiss."
Me: "Did I mention I have this slug-leather coat?"
Auntie: "Aaaarggh!! Yuk!"....<runs off to molest sibblings> |

Kind of redefines the "Lil' Slugger" hat, doesn't it? |
|

So if the coat had tails, would it leave a slime trail?? Now THAT would be cool! |

Are you kidding? Have you ever seen what slugs can do to a garden overnight? |
