Librarials would probably pick you up on your
spelling. |

So how does this work? Is it actually a ssh-megaphone (perhaps sounding similar to a steam locomotives escape valve)? |
|
|
Or is it a remote-controlled whisper tube, which can be manouvered using long levers, cables or motors to track across the ceiling and place the exit funnel inches above the chatterers head? |

"shhh" That is a cute kid and has really good lungs. |

I was thinking something like the first, a captain's
telescope-like device that you could whip out of the desk,
elongate with a satisfying "cl-cl-cl-click", aim at the
offender and the with a blow-gun-like exhale, deliver the
goods. |

But the second possibility is interesting. In the basement
of the Library of Congress there are side-by-side tubes for
information technology cables and for a conveyor belt that
delivers books between buildings. This could be like a third
stream to convey sound in a targeted way. Maybe it could
be combined with the closed circuit tv security system. |
