Send Jutta Croissants

On the HB anniversary.

Every anniversary of the HB, we should all send Jutta a nice, flakey croissant, just to show her how grateful we are to her.

A real one would get stale and crushed, so it would have to be a plush one, or delivered by a bakery near Jutta.

No no no no no no no no! Now you gave me the urge to send [jutta] a fishbone!

       Been there, done that.

I find that even the nicest croissant has a shelf life of about 12 hours. They get stale amazingly fast.
bungston, Apr 18 2005

What [half]? you sent [jutta] a fishbone?
zeno, Apr 18 2005

[bungston], why not send a halfbaked quassant? To be put in the oven when needed.
zeno, Apr 18 2005

Not neccessarily a real croissant. I know they'd get crushed and stale. I meant a plush one, or get one delivered by a bakery near Jutta.

(Months go by. [jutta], having neglected her P.O. Box for quite a while, wonders what the strange moldy scent is down at her local post office...)
Worldgineer, Apr 19 2005

I sent her some doughnuts (and possibly coffee?) a while ago.

Rumor has it that she is already the holder of one of the world's largest collection of halfbakery themed plush half-croissants.

I expect any day now that she'll announce her retirement, funded by the sale of the collection that skyrocketed in value after the manufacturer went out of business.

Usually the price soars after the artist dies.

I'll see what I can do, [bristolz].

       Odd string of coincidences:

Just searched for Halfbakery Anniversary to find out when it is and found "5 year anniversary" by the absent [thumbwax], just after I was trying to remember one of his ideas.

Found out that the Halfbakery was born the day after I was (although in a different year).

Found out that my Halfbirthday is EXACTLY THE SAME as the Halfbakery's own birthday, the day after my real birthday.

This is highly auspicious, I must go and consult my astropsychologist.

//5 year anniversary// Isn't this something of a tautology? Fifth anniversary would suffice.
AbsintheWithoutLeave, Apr 19 2005

wag, or your astro turf accountant to see if there a nag running today with a likely name.

The runes said: "Horses will run away with your wordly goods."

I ran a quick eye through the racecards and all I could come up with is Forest Green (bless him)
po, Apr 19 2005

[wagster] I misread that as "Horses will run away with your godly words". Some would argue that that was appropriate too.

Fortunately, they couldn't drag me *to* them.

//godly words// are you sure this prediction wsn't meant for the pope? Plenty of room in the Vatican to hide a couple of horses. They could race them round St Peters when all the tourists have gone home.

[wagster] just checking... you're not actually the pope, are you?
moomintroll, Apr 21 2005

       Not any more.

       I wasn't...
