Perhaps you could also use this approach to avoid the incredible tedium of choosing US states from an oddly-alphabetized drop-down list, when it would be far, far quicker to just type them in. |

Apparently some folks are a bit ahead of you, and have implemented this. They call it a "radial context menu". See links. |
