Its a hollow walking stick. Inside is a hopper for seeds and a mechanism to dispense them one at a time. At the end, a pointy bit that opens up like a clamshell and deposits a seed. Probably needs a lever or button on the handle to control the ,um, insemination.

I like this as long as they are not triffid seeds. OK, even then! Bun!

       Oh!

Add a 1D100 in a little glass compartment at the top of the staff!

An infra-red device can beam the result out to anyone that needs it!

Everytime you plant a seed, you get a seed.

       What, precisely, is a 1D100?
MaxwellBuchanan, Dec 12 2007

A quick google and wikipedia seems to indicate a single 100-sided die, which can be rolled for a 'seed' number. I guess. It's gibberish to me, so I could be entirely wrong.

I thought everyone grew up playing D&D. 1D100s were more of novelty dice though because they took forever to stop rolling. I guess if you wanted to speed up your soil impregnation, you'd want a stable 1D4.

       [edit]

Or 33D4 - 32 if you still wanted a 1-100 range of seeds, but then you'd need a big glass compartment.

       I'll buy one.

Then I'll order 500 Northern Lights seeds from Amsterdam and spend the spring walking around Regent's Park.

This reminds me of a weedingstaff idea a soda cartridge staff to freezezap then dump harmless but potentially weedkilling pH changing carbonated water on the weed You could combine them as the seed might sprout after the carbonation leaves

This could be described as an improved dibble stick. In fact, I think it should be. How could you pass up an opportunity to use a word like dibble?

       Dibble. Dibble, dibble. Dibbledibbledibbledibble....
