There are some board/card games (e.g. Cosmic Encounter or Illuminari) where some players can have secret and sometimes randomly selected goals. Could you design a team sport that has this kind of structure?
Imagine a game for 4 teams and 4 goals. Each team knows the objectives for it to win, and
the rules it has to obey, but the other teams don't.
Maybe team A has to throw the ball into goal #1 as many times as possible, but a score counts for double if there are members of team B within 10 feet of the goal, but for nothing if there are more members of team C than B.
Or the playing field is partly water and partly grass (concentric moats?) and some teams can only stay in the water and the others can only stay on land, except under certain conditions which not all teams know.
Or one team wins if the difference between its score and some other's is a prime number.
This game would be fun because you have the physical competition between the players and also the mental challenge of trying to outwit the other teams strategically.
