I have read much on the pages re book
scanning and I will add my piece to this
years ago I was set this problem and I
solved it by buying a Canon Lide 25 for
next to nothing, and started to pull it to
pieces to reduce the scanned space
between the gutter and the scanner. I
removed one side
of the scanner and
various other pieces from it and now I can
scan a book where the printing is within
three eighths of an inch from the gutter.
Every other page is upside down,no
problem and I have scanned at least 7000
pages to date and it is still going strong. I
have further ideas re book scanning on the
cheap and watch this space.
If anyone wants sketches etc, email via
half bakery.

So you've used a scanner to scan something? |

// email via half bakery// How? You haven't left any contact details. Maybe you could pad the idea out. Perhaps the scanner software could automatically add paragraph breaks and punctuation. |

Isn't that the movie where the people's heads blow up? |

Is the idea to modify a scanner so that it can read books with narrow margins, without straining the books' spines? |
|
|
No, but trying to make sense of the plot will achieve the effect. (re: quote) |
