Cameras on the front of these virtual reality goggles feed a program that changes the world you see into one you select. Want everybody to smile? Smiles are superimposed in real time over everybody who walks by. Dark and cold day? Not with these. Sunny and beautiful, might even select the option to have a few pretty birds flying around carrying ribbons for some reason.

Ironically you'd be taking existing military targeting technology and adapting it for this less deathy job.

Hey kids! Don't use TickTock, you can come to Facebook's Metaverse and wear skeleton pajamas! https://www.theguar...rse-mark-zuckerberg

Reminds me of a Lily Allen song and a Black Mirror episode.
A key part of the impending dystopia.

So basically, it puts Snapchat filters on everything in view.

Boy is that second comment ironic.

       (3rd comment) //Snapchat filter everything in view//

(checks notes) Let's see, real time smiles, pretty birdies, the ribbon thing.... yes, that's basically it, but in real time.

Google Glass could've done this, but they wanted $1,500 a pair just to test them lol

That was one of their "THE FUTURE IN NOW!" products to draw attention from the fact that they're an advertising agency. The first advertising agency that doesn't advertise that they're an advertising agency. They make 80% of their income from ads, but they're not an ad agency. Why? Because if they lost that "What do we do? What DON'T we do!" sales mantra that'd hit their investment revenue pretty hard.

Google glasses, about as Earth shattering as Zuckerberg's Metaverse featuring skeleton pajamas. (link)

It actually had a lot of potential, but that price tag was just stupid.
21 Quest, Mar 21 2023

Agreed, assuming you're talking about the glasses, not the skeleton pajamas.

       The skeleton pajamas are priceless.
doctorremulac3, Mar 21 2023

Yes, the glasses. The pajamas are um... certainly something though.
21 Quest, Mar 21 2023

They are definately a thing, there's no arguing about that.
