You start, stop, you miss a few, and start over again.

With the Road Savant app, simply point the phone's camera outside the window, and arrive at your destination completely assured as to the actual number of lamp towers or paint stripes you encountered during your trip.

Why can't you just devise an app that alerts you when you've lost count? That way, you'd know the very second when it's time to go back and start over, saving precious minutes between the time you lose track and when that realization dawns.

No, because they'd have to keep their own count to make sure the app was working properly. What if it got the count wrong? A whole trip, wasted!
