When greeting people, say, "Hello, (YOUR NAME), I'm pleased to meet you." They would reply, "Hi, (THEIR NAME), haven't seen you in a while." No need to remember their name anymore. Nice and Neat.

You should try this with your class for a few days; maybe you'd learn their names quicker.

People already do this all the time: "Hi, I'm Chris." "My name's Mike; pleased to meet you."

Thanks, RayfordSteele, you're the guy with class.

As [snarfyguy] points out, people do this already and, in fact, I think it's common for them to drop the "Hi" or "my name is" part altogether.

"We haven't met. You're Mr. Nice, you're glad to know me."
"And you're Mr. Neat, pleased to meet me."

Sure would make those conversations with schizophrenics entertaining. I wonder if they'd ever let anyone else join in.
