Restaurant dynamic pricing

based on quality and speed of service.

Ever demand a better price or a free meal if you waited a very long time for your dish? What if a price dynamic was introduced? The wait times will be posted for all dishes. Along with these times, will be the discount for every minute late your dish is, as well as a busy-hour multiplier (for times where a delay is expected). Also priced is your time on your table. A standard time will be given, depending on which dish you are given. Any time over (or under) your limit will affect your bill: leave early, get a discount, stay later and pay a fee. This will allow restaurants to be exact in their specificity of when you will be seated, when you will be served, and when you should leave. This saves them money by allowing employees to be scheduled to the minute, and making such employees more accountable for ill-mannered workflows. Customers who have company they don't really want, can argue that they need to save money and leave early, hoping that their company doesn't offer to pay.

       So, it's like a progressive tax on everyone's time-- customers, chefs, waiters, company you don't really want...

       What about the team of accountants needed to run this system? Couldn't we hurry them the hell up somehow?

       Should be some short lines, at least.

       Umm...Anyone?

       I'm in here _alone_ with [twitch]!

       I sort of get this, but then again I'd just go to a better restaurant. If I've booked, I expect them to have enough staff in the kitchen. (Of course, if I've only booked *part* of restaurant, I can see where this might be more of a problem.)

       On the plus side, though, there are no poo references.

       Oh, thank god [MB]! You got here just in time...

       //...no poo references.//

       Or I wouldn't have been here in the first place.

       yeah boomershine.. I submitted all these ideas within about 10 minutes, copy and paste style. So all the poo referenes, it was a momentary thing. No need to worry, until next time.

       HB needs a chat capability? IRC maybe?

       I like it except for the whole part about being charged extra for taking more than the allotted amount amount of time to eat your meal. It'll only encourage people to scarf down their food, instead of taking time to enjoy it like I do.

       well, they're in the business of making money. Maybe sensors on the bottom of their plates to track their average ounces per minute?
