Fountain featuring one or more hoses outfitted with hundreds of remotely controlled hydraulic jet valves around its perimeter to facilitate forming the hose into various shapes.
Could perform choreographed moves to music like in the first link or just make relaxing natural motions like in the second
link.
And as stated, this isn't just a hose with one valve at the top, it's hundreds of valves along the entire length that allow it to do choreographed shape changes.
I guess a good analogy would be rather than a randomly moving flailing man powered by a blower, it's an actual robot that does specific stuff. Walks, dances, does whatever you program it to do.
Actually, update: The valves are at the bottom, it's just hoses of various lengths aimed at various angles. Be much lighter, all the sequenced pumps at the bottom.
Actually another update: It has a camera that senses when people walk up to it. It analyzes their movements and copies them, subtly at first, then more pronounced. Eventually you might see people dancing with it. Of course it will be called... the Dancing Hose Thing. (name is a work in progress)
Turn the music down, the song is awful.

Pretty good example of snake choreography.

Actually, forget that, this is what I'd want to see them do.

Not this.

//hose// I read it as "horse". Was struggling to understand it. |
I also accidentally typed in another word wrong, came back and was like "What the heck?". |
I'd program this to move very slowly, like seaweed swaying in the gentle swells on a calm day. |
The snake dance thing, eh. The slowly swaying seaweed deal would be relaxing to watch. |

Very cool link neut. Makes me wanna to mine at some public display like this. Maybe I'll build a prototype and show it to city hall. |

I see someone missed the bun button by mistake. |

Hosedancer, Sculptflopper, Waterthing, I got it!: Spray'n'dance |

And add add a camera to it so it sort of copies your dance moves. |

Just creepy enough - add it to the idea! [+] |

Tesla was working on this tech to develop a robotic arm for their supercharging stations. Or at least they said they were - nothing has come of it in several years now. |
The idea was you drive up to the station, remote-open your charging port, and a robotic snake comes out and worms its way around, eventually poking its snout into your port, and much charging ensues. When complete, it pulls out and puts itself away. |
Too bad there's no advancement on this. We need more things poking their snouts into ports. Maybe they could add suggestive audio like with those Swedish trash cans. |

[A wild link appears! It's super effective!] |
(Re your link) LOL! Holy crap that was un-expectedly funny! |

Please check tat's "Tesla snake bot charge" link and watch till the end. |
