Movies stars wear a lot of things once. I am not sure what happens to those clothes afterwards. Maybe the actresses give them to charity? Maybe they gather dust in a closet. It may be that the designers who give the actresses these dresses prohibit them from reselling them. Any starlet participants
in the HB can give us the real story.
In any case, I propose these dresses could be cut up and refashioned as ties (or hats / scarves), which would then be sold at charity benefits. Each tie would come with the starlets signature and photo (s) of her wearing the dress.
I thought that underwear and dainties might also be so recycled. It may be that Tyra Banks' panties would fetch a higher price intact. On the other hand it may be more socially acceptable to sell them reincarnated as men's neckwear.

Starlets wear underwear? Not in the pictures I see. Well, unless you consider a thin layer of blur cloth as underwear. |

One would hope they were thoroughly sterilized first. |

Don't be such a priss. They're worth more in mint condition. |

? I wasn't expecting mint. |

Well, different women have different scents. Why, I know one who - Oh, never mind, I can hear the Baker's League Against Normzone's Drivel handing out torches now, gotta be on my way. |

I agree that some of those women really should think twice before becoming mothers, but sterilizing them is going a bit far! |

I thought they gathered dust in some huge wardrobe as a sort of retirement fund: |
|
|
"... the ageing star, who has not had a hit single since 1972's "You know you still want me" despite several self-funded multi-million pound albums released in the 80s and 90s, has made several times the expected price for their wardrobe from the 50s and 60s at Christie's today. Classic outfits such as those featured in their 1953 album..." |

I thought it said 'Recycled scarlets dress' ties. |
