Recent Busy-ness

Adjust the "Recent Three" to include more items when a major category has a lot of activity.

I recently added an idea to the Science category, and when I came back just a few hours later to see what responses there might have been, it had sunk down to #4 on the list, and was therefore no longer visible to most folks visiting the HalfBakery, because the normal default display is a Recent Three items in each major category.

So, what if the HB software paid some attention to how much activity there is in each major category, and displayed more than 3 items by default, whenever (and only when) a category has a lot of activity involving several different Ideas?

You can always change your default home page on the search page. I have a recent 10 list for mine.

I can't remember if I set my own filter or if it's something I borrowed from [Krelnik] but I haven't viewed the halfbakery by the recent 3 page since like a few weeks after I stumbled in here.
I like it better to see everything drop and raise in sequence as it's going down the page.

Crap, now it's ticking me off that I can't remember. I know I made an 'ideas I've annotated' view, but I think this is one of Krelinicks copy/paste filters. [link]
I like it.

I use a "Recent 15" as my default HB display; that's how I knew my idea had sunk to #4 on the list of Science category Ideas.

I just use the "index-recent-by-date" link (set-up as a bookmark, so I can go straight there). I don't see why it needs to be any more complicated, unless you only visit once a month or something silly.

I don't see the problem here. When I click on 'recent' I see 17 days of ideas, with a 'more' at the bottom of the page. Is that not what everyone sees?

Certainly not. We see things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion ... we watch C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All these ... moments ... will be lost, in time, like .... tears in rain ...

Come off it, [8th]. You were blown away by the final episode of Blackadder, and haven't been allowed to watch Emmerdale since that lesbian business.

Rutger Hauer is one of my favorite actors, though a bit type-cast.
If you haven't seen The Blood Of Heroes you should put it on your must watch b-movie bucket list.

"Play hard. You'll forget the fear."

       Classic.

// the final episode of Blackadder //

<sob> They died ... they all died ... it was so unfair ... poor Baldrick ... <blubber>

// Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion//(and all the consequences). Although not where it's from, made me think of one of my favourite episodes. The bitter sweet Torchwood S2 Ep11 'Adrift'
