There is a certain enjoyment drinking beer out of a bottle but drinking it out of a can just isn't the same. You need a glass. So why not replace the cans with pint glasses which have a twist top (or something similar)?
This would provide the ultimate free-range drinking experience.

Actually no - I'm guessing that what you're missing in a bottle compared to a pint is that the bottle itself is cold, while the pint has been poured into a warm glass (except in those few establishments that chill the glasses). So your cold pre-filled pint glass will still failt to satisfy in some hard to pin down way. |

However, cans are far more durable than a pint-style glass. That, and cost would be higher as well. |

the thought of a pint in a ready to drink glass is a nice one. I cannot think of a way to secure the top and it would be a fragile item unless it is packaged in perhaps a cardboard outer casing. I like. +1 |

Hmmm - the problem with this would be the threads you would need to secure the lid. Anyone who has drunk for the 3 or 4 beers from a mason jar knows that it is increasingly hard to maintain a beertight lipseal over the threads. Perhaps the threads on the interior of the glass, and a protruding ring with which to grasp the lid and unscrew it? The ring could also be used to hang the readypints along the mantel, in lieu of christmas stockings. |

Is a very nice turn of phrase. My favorite cider is served in very small 25 cl bottles, and tastes quite different in larger bottles, cans, PEP bottles and from the tap, as well as from pint glasses poured from the above. It might not make much sense, but it's certainly true - I'd much rather drink many small bottles of this stuff than a few pints of it. |

I think this is a very fine idea. The history and tradition of the great British milk bottle distribution network will be hugely useful in getting this done. Leave a couple of empty 6-ers on the doorstep at night (if you can remember), with a slightly illegible scribble requesting four pints of Olde Grizzly Buttocks, six pints of Pestilentially Prurient Porter, two pints of Barstewards' Best Ale, and, oh, a packet of crisps, please. |
