Radarange Revisited

extra dish in the microwave

The world's first microwave oven was called "Radarange”, being a by-product of radar-related research. In a radiation blast from the past, this oven would employ an additional microwave source at its back to scan the food about an inch above its floor. The small, oscillating dish antenna would read the pulse echo and feed the result to a usually transparent LCD oven window.

When switched on, ordinary microwave radiation would cease, and the radar function would show a 50’s era radar sweep and echo display of warming leftovers on the oven front. Coming soon: the dropped-in-the-bathwater-soap-locating-sonar.

But food looks so greenish on 50' radar images, with a rotten, fungus like glow. Is this for people on diet?
