Pulse Jet Leaf Blower

Because turbines are unnecessarily refined.

Small turbines are, of course, ideally suited to moving air around. This is a pleasing feature when you're trying to construct a leaf blower. Turbines however, do require precision engineering and advanced metallurgy. As such, they cost vast amounts of cash. This is not a pleasing feature when you're trying to make a leaf blower.

Now, the concept of the pulse jet addresses the specific financial and engineering issues associated with axial (and centrifugal) flow jet engines. They're cheap and simple to make, and can be made to run on a variety of fuels.

Disadvantages: You need another leaf blower to start this leaf blower, the sound of large, un-contained conflagrations is often described (by tedious killjoys) as "a bit loud", it's much louder and smellier than a 2-stroke engine.

Bun, but I pretty much auto-bun anything having to do with pulse jets. I use this simple algorithm that you can use at home: Pulse jets = awesome.

       Why only at home?

You're right. At home or on the road, at a barbeque or just having a relaxing Sunday by the pool with the fam. Pulsejets ALWAYS = awesome.

Commercial: (Bunch of teens sitting around at a party, dance music plays in the background, everybody looks bored. Girl throwing the party looks concerned, says:)

Host girl: "Hey guys, let's drink and make out!"

Male party goer standing up and looking at the clock: "Uh, that's ok Sally, I think I need to get home anyway, got homework tonight." (several other kids stand up and start murmuring similar excuses to leave. Host girl turns to her friend:)

Host girl: "Oh Cathy, this is the worst party ever! I'm so embarrassed!"

Host girl's friend: "Don't worry Sally, I've got something to get this party started!"

(She wheels in a 7 foot long pulse jet, the kids gather around totally transfixed.)

Boy guest: "WOW! What does it do?"

Cathy: "Just watch!" (hits ignition button, there's a defining roar as flames blast from the pipe, the windows in the room all blow out and plaster falls from the ceiling.)

Everybody: "WOOOOWWW! TOTALLY AWESOME!" (as everybody starts dancing the Watusi)

Sally: "Wow! Thanks Cathy! For the awesome party, all thanks to this awesome pulse jet!"

       Cathy: "WHAT?!?!"

       Sally: "I SAID.... OH, HAHAHAHAH!"

Voice over: "It's not a party without a Remucon Pulse Jet, by Remulac3 Industries. (warning, some death may occur)"
