This is a series of 12 flutes, one for each note of the scale,
connected at the mouthpiece so that one stream of air is
blown down a pipe and will pass through all of the flutes,
unless a thin slot that crosses all of the mouthpieces is
threaded with a sheet of mylar into which a score of notes
has been cut, that let air pass to the mouthpieces only if a
hole/note is in the mylar.
I guess this would be a recorder not a flute but the word
recorder makes it sound like a device for making an
impression of something.
