Programmable Flute

This is a series of 12 flutes, one for each note of the scale, connected at the mouthpiece so that one stream of air is blown down a pipe and will pass through all of the flutes, unless a thin slot that crosses all of the mouthpieces is threaded with a sheet of mylar into which a score of notes has been cut, that let air pass to the mouthpieces only if a hole/note is in the mylar.

I guess this would be a recorder not a flute but the word recorder makes it sound like a device for making an impression of something.
