Before you take off in an airplane, you must watch a video or a flight attendant describing how to use the oxygen masks that drop from the ceiling in the event of loss of air pressure.
Well, maybe I am retarded, but I've heard that lecture about 10 times by now and I still have no idea how I would
use that thing. In general, I'm no good with items that have straps or buckles or lots of different openings. I tend to get them backwards, or I can't get my hands to meet properly, or I need a mirror to put them on.
Plus, one part of the mask video sounds suspicious to me: The part about "Even though you are breathing into the bag, the bag will not inflate". I'd like to see that for myself.
But alas, I have never had any opportunity to practice with these masks, or to try one on to make sure I can use it.
As a matter of public safety, I think you should be able to pick one up for free at the airport to practice with, or at least buy one in a hardware store.
That way you could fly knowing you are prepared. Worried parents could also make sure their children know how to put them on before they get on the plane.

No problem. When it happens you'll have maybe one minute to figure it out. Muhahahaha! |

I think I'd confuse it with the real one... |

And youve never tried it? Why not? |

I think I feel more safe not knowing how to use it. |
