It is a well known fact that all cats enjoy snoozing on a sunny windowsill. Unfortunately not all places of residence have such a window. I propose a portable sunny window for cats in several sizes to suit any house. It would have a false window, with a nice picture of an outdoor scene behind the glass
that you could change depending on your decor. A wide 'windowsill' would run along the bottom for the cat to sit on. A heat lamp would mimick the warmth and light from the afternoon sun. You could put it against any wall, on a table or anywhere for your cat to enjoy. Free cat cushion included!

anything to keep a cat happy gets my vote |
Conversely, if you add some kind of 'cook' setting, you might just get a bun from [8th]. |

claire would love this! (so would dustin, I think).+++++ |

Cute idea, but I'd be careful of a heat lamp. Maybe just a regular light bulb would do the trick. Anyway, have a sunny croissant and welcome to the halfbakery. + |

My cat suns under our lamps when she chooses not to go outdoors. You could just use a sixty watt bulb and a heating pad for additional warmth. |

and I hope it emails me soon! |

Today I wish I really did have one of these! My cat won't stop sitting on me while I am sleeping. Thanks for the sunny welcome! |

Unfortunately, it's a well known fact that the probability of a cat using anything is inversely proportional to its cost. Example 1: expensive cat bed. Cat sniffs and walks away, never sets paw inside the thing. Example 2: tatty and unsightly old cardboard box, full of hard and apparently uncomfortable children's toys. Cat loves it and still insists in sleeping there long after box has fallen apart. |

I hope this can be made cheaply enough to be actually used. |

...and a little catnip in the window box. |

//My cat won't stop sitting on me while I am sleeping.// |

Isn't that what cats are for? |
I would be happy with just a wide clamp-
on window sill. |

// cat-loathing dog lovers would like this // |

// accomodate slightly larger pets... my ferret // |

Your ferret is bigger than a cat ? Does it have black and white stripes on its face ? What you have there is a badger, old boy - whoever sold it to you is having a laugh ..... |
I dunnno. A badger is better than a ferret in my view. It's bigger, braver, and isn't lunch for a dog. |
I am picturing people who work in overly cold, windowless offices taking a sneaky lunchtime nap on one of these, satisfied little smiles on their faces as they snooze... |
quite right! <nudges cat off ledge> |
